Duckface plays with the female nude and strategies of visual camouflage within social media image culture.
The artist’s own self-portraits serve as a starting point. Combined with household objects and elements drawn from the Pénéla archives, these images become an absurd play on the stereotype of the “ideal housewife”.
Parts of the series were created during live one-hour performances in front of an audience.
Series of approximately one hundred works. Exhibited internationally between 2018 and 2022.
Nominated for the HSBC Prize in 2018.
